Four champions were crowned this week at the Royal Regina Golf Club concluding the Golf Saskatchewan Amateur Championships.
Sela Ogada of Calgary won the Saskatchewan Amateur Women’s Championship on Thursday afternoon with a 54-hole score of 13-over par, 232. The 14-year-old is the second straight Alberta golfer to win the Saskatchewan provincial championship.
Regina’s Alex Schmidt was second, three shots back of Ogada, who also won the under-15 championship at the Junior Women’s Championships in Yorkton last week.
Reigning champion Emily Cornwall, also of Calgary was third at 20-over par.
Ogada spoke after claiming the championship.
The second Saskatchewan Mid-Amateur Women’s Championship was also held from Tuesday to Thursday in Regina. The field is open to players 25 years of age and over.
Saskatoon’s Carla Odnokon (pictured above) adds to her impressive resume with another Saskatchewan title. The Saskatoon Golf and Country Club member posted rounds of 82, 83, and 79, holding off Edmonton’s Darcy Garbutt.
Chelsea Kinoshita of Langenburg was third in the division.

In the Men’s Mid-Amateur Championship Danny Klughart of Prince Albert claimed his fourth Saskatchewan title. The Cooke Municipal Golf Course member edged Jehremy Ryde by a stroke on Thursday afternoon to win the 25-and-over division.
Tyler Zaba of Regina was two shots behind Klughart after 54 holes at the Royal Regina. The trio will make up Team Saskatchewan at the Canadian Mid-Amateur Championship in Ottawa later this summer.
Klughart spoke about the championship after the trophy presentation.
The four-round Saskatchewan Amateur Championship concluded Friday with 22 players making the cut after Thursday’s third round.
Kye Fisher of Edmonton was the winner thanks to a 5-under par, 66 round to conclude the championship.
Royal Regina member Luke Cote was second and will lead Team Saskatchewan into the Canadian Amateur Championship at the Saskatoon Golf and Country Club and Riverside Country Club in early August.
Chase Pochylko placed third, Klughart used his second hole-in-one of the week to vault up the leaderboard and claim the third position on Team Saskatchewan.
